With the support of the gift in 2007 from the Harvest Festival Stöppelhaene Raalte and the National Committee for International Cooperation and Sustainable Development (NCDO) an agricultural project is implemented in Nilaveli-Kumburupiddy. In addition to fishing, agriculture is one of the main sources of livelihood in the area.
The aim of the project was to make a contribution to the development of agriculture. The money from the harvest gift and the contribution of NCDO were used to build two garages and buy tractors and other equipments and seeds. Also an old tractor is restored and water pumps were constructed for drinking and agricultural purposes.
