Support for Community Houses 2018

Gerealiseerde projecten

This project was set up in collaboration with Wilde Ganzen.
The aim was to help our partner organization, OMI, to continue their activities in and around the Community Houses on their way to independent functioning. The support also aimed at teaching them to generate a structural source of income.
In the "Sieco" community house in Mullikulam, Fr. Harance is on the lead. He is very active in finding new ways of development in the farm, which is meant to be an example for other farms in that area. Fr. Harance introduces new ways of sustainable land use and the cultivation of new kind of crops. With the aid of the agricultural department of the local government he organizes seminars and gives instructions to the people, who live in the surrounding villages, how to further develop their own farms.
To transport the products from, the poorly accessible, Mullikulam to the market a truck was purchased. A large well has been excavated so that now they have always water. The land has also been cleaned everywhere, in order to be able to cultivate it and plant the seeds en crops that have been purchased.
In Kokilai, we funded a project for the expansion of peanut production, by widows, who now make different products with these peanuts, and sell them in shops or markets.
This project also included setting up (extra) education for children in and around Mullikulam and Kokilai.
Mid 2018 everything was ready and we sended the final report to Wilde Ganzen.
